Acorn TV is heading back into the world of Art Detectives.
The AMC Global Media streamer has renewed the Stephen Moyer-led crime drama series for a second season plus an additional two-part special.
This comes after the show, which debuted last year, became its most-watched new series premiere ever.
The series will return with a two-part special in December, followed by a six-episode season next year. Production starts in Belfast and across Northern Ireland this month.
Art Detectives stars Moyer as art-loving Detective Inspector (DI) Mick Palmer and centers around the Heritage Crime Unit. Joined by DC Shazia Malik (Nina Singh), the pair must solve murders connected to the world of art and antiques. Larry Lamb returns as Ron Palmer, Mick’s art-forging father, who is now serving time in an open prison for handling the stolen Sickert painting that was recovered at the end of season one.

The series was created and written by Dan Gaster, Will Ing, Paul Powell and is directed by Jennie Paddon, Declan Recks and Sam O’Mahony. It is produced by Black Dog Television, Dynamic Television and Acorn Media Enterprises with funding from Northern Ireland Screen.
It is executive produced by Gaster, Ing and Powell for Black Dog Television, Daniel March and Klaus Zimmermann for Dynamic Television, Bea Tammer and Catherine Mackin for Acorn TV/Acorn Media Enterprises, and Moyer. Candida Julian-Jones is the series producer and Martin Mahon is the producer.
