EXCLUSIVE: Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx has found his next starring vehicle in Deadlocked, an action film that has landed at Amazon MGM Studios for worldwide distribution.
Directed by Nikhil Bhat, the Indian filmmaker behind the Hindi-language action-thriller Kill, Deadlocked follows a grieving former Marine serving jury duty who is forced back into action when the trial of the century turns into a deadly hostage situation as the defendant’s daughter seizes the courthouse to free her father.
Set to stream globally on Prime Video, the film stems from a script by Eric Scot Anderson (The Black Fox) and Matt Takejiro Bosack (CBS’s NCIS: Hawai’i), based on their original idea.
Producers include Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger for Range and Dave Caplan for C2 — companies that previously collaborated on Oz Perkins’ Longlegs and The Monkey — along with Foxx for Foxxhole Productions. AJ Bourscheid, Liz Destro, Paul Currie and Corinne Foxx will serve as executive producers.
