PREVIOUS, Aug. 11: Netflix has released the first trailer for Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, the latest chapter in Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s anthology series. Watch it above.

The haunting 56-second clip begins with a theater curtain opening to reveal a nearly empty stage with just a piano and the C key playing repeatedly by itself. The scene then shifts to an ominous voiceover: “Lizzie Borden took an ax. Gave her mother 40 whacks.” We don’t see Lizzie, but we hear the repeated wielding of an ax aimed at what is assumed to be her mother. The clip ends with a stunned-looking and blood-covered Lizzie and another voiceover saying, “When Lizzie saw what she had done, she gave her father 41.”
