“Do you know what? I’m gonna live my truth!” exclaims Ella Purnell‘s Rhiannon Lewis… The only issue there is her truth often involves murder.
A trailer for Sweetpea Season 2 just dropped, with wallflower-turned-killer Rhiannon returning in Sky and Starz‘s darkly comic thriller series. The action picks up after the deadly events of the Season 1 finale, with Rhiannon now navigating a promotion at the local newspaper where she works, while dealing with a copycat killer threatening to expose her.
As her kill list mounts, she is forced to consider whether her ex-boyfriend AJ was correct: Is she a monster?
Purnell (Fallout) will again star in the show, with Rish Shah (Overcompensating) joining the cast as Rhiannon’s romantic interest Gabriel, along with Tamsin Greig (Riot Women), who stars as AJ’s mother, Liv. Taj Atwal (Riot Women) plays Freya, Rhiannon’s formidable new boss at the Carnsham Gazette, while Jenny Walser (Heartstopper) plays new friend Daisy.

Returning are Jon Pointing (Big Boys), Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso,), Leah Harvey (Foundation), Ingrid Oliver (Thursday Murder Club), Nitin Ganatra (Mr Bigstuff) and Alexandra Dowling (Game of Thrones).
Sweetpea is adapted from C.J. Skuse’s novel of the same name and produced by See-Saw Films and fanboy in association with Sky Studios. Patrick Walters (Heartstopper) is executive producer, with Helen Gregory, Iain Canning and Emile Sherman doing the same for See-Saw. Ella Jones and Purnell also serve as executive producers, alongside Kirstie Swain, who was the lead writer on the first season.
The lead writer for Season 2, Selina Lim, is co-executive producer alongside Emme Hoy, Simon Gillis and Natasha Heliotis, while Zorana Piggott (Heartstopper) is the series producer. Lim is joined on the writing team by Hoy, Anna Jordan and Laura Jayne Tunbridge, who serve as episodic writers. The Commissioning Editor for Sky is Manpreet Dosanjh.
The series is set to launch on Sky in the UK in November and early 2027 on Starz.
