Hulu To Explore Murder Of Dan Markel In Docuseries

EXCLUSIVE: Hulu is continuing to ramp up its true-crime docuseries lineup.

The streamer is exploring the murder of Florida attorney and law professor Dan Markel in a four-part series.

Welcome To The Family: The Murder of Dan Markel reveals the “dark secrets of a wealthy family centered around the brutal murder”.

Markel was killed in Tallahassee, Florida in a murder-for-hire motivated by child custody issues following his divorce from his wife Wendi Adelson.

Five individuals have been convicted in the case: Wendi Adelson’s mother Donna Adelson, Wendi Adelson’s brother Charlie Adelson, Sigfredo Garcia, Katherine Magbanua and Luis Rivera, although Wendi Adelson herself was not charged, despite being named as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the case by prosecutors.

The series, which premieres on September 1, features exclusive audio and first-time interviews. In a recorded conversation with FBI agent Pat Sanford, Rob Adelson, the oldest son of the Adelson family, who has been estranged from the family for years, speaks about the case and testifying against his own mother, Donna, at her trial.

First-time interviews include Sanford, who spent half his career working to solve the case and June Umchina, the ex-girlfriend of Charlie Adelson, who reveals the inside story of their relationship and what Charlie told her about Dan Markel’s murder.
