Adam Brody Declares Support For “Free Palestine” Ahead Of ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 3

As Netflix prepares to release another season of its mixed-faith Jewish rom-com Nobody Wants This, leading man Adam Brody is using his platform to speak up for Palestinians.

The 2x Golden Globe-nominated actor emphasized his support for “Free Palestine” as the topic of Israel’s attacks on Gaza came up in a recent interview ahead of Season 3 of Nobody Wants This, arriving Oct. 22 on Netflix.

“Between COVID, a second Trump term, Israel-Gaza, it’s really brought out some different beliefs that I was ignorant to, and then disheartened by,” he told GQ about Hollywood’s conservative pivot.

Brody admitted that “truthfully,” the Israel-Hamas conflict has not come up for him in recent interviews, despite his role as Rabbi Noah Roklov in the Erin Foster-created series. “I have spoken a lot about it privately. I haven’t spoken much about it publicly,” he noted.

“Put me down as thinking it’s a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine,” said Brody. “It’s awful that it’s taken so much death and misery, but it does feel like it’s reaching a breaking point that it should have a while ago. I’m hopeful that another administration can really do some good and correct some of these policies that are helping that situation be as awful as it is.”

In Nobody Wants This, agnostic podcaster Joanne Williams (Kristen Bell) begins an unexpected romance with Rabbi Noah Roklov (Brody), which shakes both their families as Joanne immerses herself in Noah’s culture and decides to convert to Judaism.

Brody’s comments come after several of his Hollywood peers were among around 100 arrested outside the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, where they were protesting the arrival of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday.
