Art Directors Guild Sets Date, Venue & Timeline For 2027 ADG Awards

As the 2026-27 awards season continues to take shape, the Art Directors Guild revealed details about its 31st annual awards shows. The group said Tuesday that its 2027 Excellence in Production Design Awards will be handed out Saturday, February 27, returning to the Beverly Hilton. The ceremony had been held at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown for the past two years.

ADG Awards nominations will be unveiled on Thursday, January 7. See the full timeline of key dates below.

The guild, IATSE Local 800, also announced that its Fantasy film and TV categories have been renamed as Fantasy or Sci-Fi Feature Film and Fantasy or Sci-Fi Single Camera Series, respectively. It also revealed a few rule changes (read them here, with adjustments in red type) and a strengthened Code of Conduct that reads: “Any harassment, disrespectful behavior, or abusive language directed toward Awards Committee members or Guild staff is prohibited and is subject to eligibility penalties and review by the Art Directors Council. Communication about the project should be limited to the production designer, art director, studio, or studio representative.”

“The 31st annual Excellence in Production Design Awards celebrate the extraordinary artists whose creativity, collaboration and vision help define the visual worlds audiences experience on screen,” ADG President Dina Lipton said. “Production design is at the heart of visual storytelling, and these awards honor the remarkable contributions of our members across film, television, commercials, music videos and animation.”

Established in 1937, the Art Directors Guild represents more than 3,000 production designers; art directors; scenic, title and graphic artists; illustrators; matte artists; model makers; set designers; and other design professionals.
