EXCLUSIVE: LOL: Last One Laughing has found its referee.
Nick Kroll will host the U.S. version of the hit international comedy format for Amazon. Kroll, who starred in The League and created series including Comedy Central’s Kroll Show and Netflix’s Big Mouth and Mating Season, will also exec produce the series.
He joins the likes of Jimmy Carr, who hosts the British version, Rebel Wilson, who hosts the Australian version, Jay Baruchel, who hosts the Canadian version, Eugenio Derbez, who hosts the Mexican version, Trevor Noah, who hosts the South African version and Graham Norton, who hosts the Irish version.
Amazon greenlit the U.S. version of the show earlier this summer with Fulwell Entertainment producing.

The format is simple: 10 of the top comics and comedic actors are thrown together for six hours with one mandate — make everyone else lose it without so much as cracking a smile themselves. Essentially, you laugh, you lose.
It is exec produced by Kroll through his Good At Business shingle, Ben Winston, Emma Conway, and Eric Pankowski, who serves as showrunner.
The cast will be announced in due course.
“I have loved this show in other countries and cannot wait to get the funniest people in the US together and watch them not laugh,” said Kroll. “This format is pure joy and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
“Nick Kroll’s sharp wit and love of mischief make him the perfect person to lead LOL: Last One Laughing, and we’re lucky to have him on the team,” added Jenn Levy, Head of Nonfiction, Amazon MGM Studios. “Asking people not to laugh around Nick feels almost unfair. This beloved format has delighted audiences around the world, and we can’t wait to see Nick put some of America’s funniest people through the ultimate test: keeping a straight face.”
