After wrapping production on Season 3 of Wednesday last month, Jenna Ortega is looking forward to exploring new roles in the future.
The Emmy nominee explained that she will “probably be off the TV for a while” after completing the Tim Burton-directed Netflix series from creators/showrunners/EPs Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, noting that she wants “to leave time” for other opportunities.
“I actually haven’t had a lot of franchise conversations. I haven’t,” noted Ortega on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “But what I’m meant to do will come and find me. I think after Wednesday, I’ll probably be off the TV for a while. You know, I had many years doing that. I was bouncing from show to show as a kid, this to this, and I want to leave time for new things.”
In the podcast, Ortega also admitted that she’s still “a little confused” by the show’s popularity, explaining that it “felt like some sick mind game” when she got recognized for her role.
