EXCLUSIVE: When it comes to the PAW Patrol franchise, it’s been not a good dog but a great one at the box office. Add $18 billion in lifetime retail, and it only makes sense for Spin Master Corp, Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies to team on a fourth, currently titled PAW Patrol 4. A 2029 theatrical release is being eyed via Paramount.
Cal Brunker, who helmed the previous films — PAW Patrol: The Movie, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, which grossed more than a half-billion dollars worldwide — is back to direct and will co-write with Bob Barlen.
“PAW Patrol is a global entertainment phenomenon, and we’re investing in the franchise to give fans more of what they love,” said Vishnu Athreya, EVP & President of Spin Master Entertainment. “Looking to the future, we want to further expand the PAW Patrol universe through movies, series, specials, short-form video and connected play to bring joy to the next generation of kids wherever they are. There are endless storytelling possibilities — this is just the beginning.”

Dodge worked previously at Spin Master, building out its entertainment division.

PAW Patrol has ranked as the No. 1 preschool show on Nick Jr. since its 2013 debut. PAW Patrol’s global reach spans over 190 territories and 33 languages, and it has amassed more than 10 million YouTube subscribers. The franchise also counts more than 1,000 licensees worldwide.
Skydance Products & Publishing handles the consumer products licensing, in addition to toy sales generated by Spin Master.
