Joshua Manns, who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and child neglect, was sentenced to 60 years in prison. As part of the plea agreement, Manns avoided trial and a potential death sentence for the 2021 death of Jameson Nance. Investigators believe Nance’s mother, Erica Dotson, and Manns were abusing the child. According to court documents, an autopsy revealed clear signs of battered child syndrome. (6/22/26)
