David Oyelowo Joins Anne Hathaway-Produced Film ‘Little Five’

EXCLUSIVE: David Oyelowo (Selma, Lawmen: Bass Reeves) has joined the lead cast of Little Five, an indie film from Anne Hathaway’s production company Somewhere Pictures and Pigasus Pictures. He will star opposite the previously announced Ariana Greenblatt and Rain Spencer.

Other additions to the cast include Sasha Frolova as Ingrid, Nadia Alexander as Josie, Drew Powell as Will, and Max Cortezi as TFG.

Directed by Ian Samuels from a screenplay by Gillian Williams, Little Five is inspired by the legendary Little 500 cycling race at Indiana University and tells the story of a determined group of young women who challenge tradition, forge an unlikely team, and redefine what is possible through resilience, friendship, and grit.

The film captures the spirit of an era defined by big dreams, bigger risks, unforgettable music, and the women who helped redefine collegiate athletics.

Oyelowo will portray Randall, a former cycling champion whose own dreams were cut short. Reluctantly drawn back into the sport, Randall becomes an unlikely mentor whose guidance helps shape a new generation of athletes while forcing him to confront his own unfinished journey.

Little Five is produced by Zachary Spicer for Pigasus Pictures and Hathaway, Adam Shulman, and Johnathan Rice for Somewhere Pictures.

An acclaimed actor, producer, and filmmaker, Oyelowo is best known for his award-winning portrayal of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma and for his work as an actor and co-producer of the Chad Feehan-created Paramount+ Western series Lawmen: Bass Reeves, where he brings to life the titular character. Additional credits include the Apple TV+ drama series Silo and the films The Butler and The Book of Clarence, among others. Oyelowo is repped by CAA, Hamilton Hodell, and Del Shaw.
