Disney+ has handed a pilot order to Spaceship Earth, inspired by the Disney World EPCOT attraction of the same name, from Jason Fuchs (IT: Welcome To Derry), Michael Waldron (Loki) and 20th Television.
Co-written by Fuchs and Waldron, in Spaceship Earth, when a mission to avert an imminent global cataclysm goes awry, a small band of teenagers from Earth’s past and future must join forces to confront a threat as vast and mysterious as time itself.
Fuchs serves as executive producer and showrunner, with Waldron also executive producing via his Anomaly Pictures banner. Lee Toland Krieger (You, Riverdale, Shadow & Bone) directs and executive produces the pilot along with Adam Fishbach via his Fishbach Productions, and Adam Fasullo. 20th Television is the studio.
The Spaceship Earth attraction is housed in the geodesic sphere at Walt Disney World in Bay Lake, Florida, which has served as the symbolic structure of EPCOT since the park opened in 1982. The 15-minute ride takes guests on a time machine-themed experience, demonstrating how advancements in human communication have helped to create the future one step at a time.

Fuchs most recently co-created, co-showran and executive produced HBO’s IT: Welcome To Derry. He’s currently writing a live-action feature adaptation of My Hero Academia for Netflix and Legendary’ and is writing the new Transformers script for Paramount and Hasbro. Fuchs just launched his own company, Five Ten Productions, with his wife, producer, and actress Alixandra Fuchs, He is repped by WME and attorney Michael Schenkman at Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.
Waldron created, served as head writer, and executive produced Marvel and Disney+’s hit series Loki and wrote Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for director Sam Raimi. Next up, he is the co-writer of Avengers: Doomsday which hits theaters in December 2026. Waldron is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and attorney Michael Shenkman at Shenkman Law.
Krieger, known for his work on You, Deadly Class, Shadow and Bone, Superman & Lois, among others, recently wrapped the Netflix feature Picture It, starring Millie Bobby Brown and Gabriel LaBelle. His features include The Age of Adeline starring Blake Lively, Harrison Ford and Ellen Burstyn, and romantic comedy-drama Celeste & Jesse Forever. He’s repped by UTA and Davis Law Group.
Fishbach has been under an overall with 20th Television for the past 4 years. His work past work with Disney includes the Hulu series Love, Victor, The Other Black Girl, and La Máquina and the Disney+ film A Very Jonas Christmas Movie for Disney+. He previously was an Executive Producer on Netflix’s Narcos, Narcos: Mexico, and F Is for Family and the hit feature Smile. His next project is the Miramax/Amazon film Supermax which begins production at the end of the summer.
