Disney+ has handed a pilot order to Spaceship Earth, inspired by the Disney World EPCOT attraction of the same name, from Jason Fuchs (IT: Welcome To Derry) and 20th Television.
In Spaceship Earth, when a mission to avert an imminent global cataclysm goes awry, a small band of teenagers from Earth’s past and future must join forces to confront a threat as vast and mysterious as time itself.
The Spaceship Earth attraction is housed in the geodesic sphere at Walt Disney World in Bay Lake, Florida, which has served as the symbolic structure of EPCOT since the park opened in 1982. The 15-minute ride takes guests on a time machine-themed experience, demonstrating how advancements in human communication have helped to create the future one step at a time.
Fuchs serves as executive producer and showrunner. Lee Toland Krieger directs and executive produces along with Adam Fishbach and Adam Fasullo. 20th Television is the studio.

Fuchs most recently co-created, co-showran and executive produced HBO’s IT: Welcome To Derry. He’s currently writing a live-action feature adaptation of My Hero Academia for Netflix and Legendary’ and is writing the new Transformers script for Paramount and Hasbro.
