EXCLUSIVE: Millicent Simmonds (A Quiet Place franchise) has co-written and will star in Grace, a crime thriller marking the first feature from Inevitable Foundation‘s Inevitable Studios.

From filmmakers Ari Costa and Eren Celeboglu, who co-wrote the script, Grace centers on a deaf teenager who unravels the violent secrets of her family’s buried past. A passion project they’ve been developing alongside Simmonds for three years, the project marks their follow-up to directorial debut All Fun and Games, a 2023 horror flick starring Asa Butterfield and Natalie Dyer.

Inevitable’s Siegel and Torelli-Pedevska said, “Grace is exactly the kind of film we started Inevitable Studios to make. It’s a commercial story first that happens to center a deaf protagonist. We’re incredibly proud to be bringing this project to life with Millicent, Ari, and Eren and can’t wait for people to see it.”

Best known for her breakout starring role in the A Quiet Place horror franchise, Simmonds originated the role of Regan Abbott, the deaf daughter of Emily Blunt’s Evelyn, in the first film from John Krasinski before going on to reprise it in A Quiet Place Part II and the upcoming Part III, which is currently in production. Simmonds, who is deaf in real life, has most recently been seen starring alongside Maddie Ziegler, Lana Condor, Iris Apatow and Avantika in Pretty Lethal, the ballet-themed action thriller that premiered on Prime Video in March after launching out of SXSW. Simmonds is otherwise best known for roles in Todd Haynes’ Wonderstruck and the Joe Mantello-helmed Grey House, opposite Tatiana Maslany, which marked her Broadway debut. She is repped by Untitled Entertainment.

Prior to teaming up with Costa, Celeboglu started his career working for showrunner Bill Lawrence, writing and directing episodes of Scrubs and Cougar Town. Costa, meanwhile, has worked with the Russo Brothers since 2010, producing on the Avengers films, the Extraction franchise and more, in his role as SVP Film and Television at AGBO.
