EXCLUSIVE: Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight), Brenton Thwaites (Titans) and Bella Samman (Walker) are starring in Out of the Ashes, a post-apocalyptic action thriller from director Steven C. Miller.
Filming has recently wrapped in Kentucky on the film which “follows a former soldier (Eckhart) determined to protect his young daughter (Samman) as they flee a ruthless band of marauders in a world ravaged by a mysterious pandemic.”
Screenplay is written by Chad Law and Dick Grunert. The film is produced by Sagiv Diamant under his Element Production banner and Jordan Dykstra, who is also handling worldwide sales at the upcoming TIFF market through Ignite Pictures.
Law also produces through his Underdogg Entertainment banner. New Dimension Films’ Jamie R. Thompson, Jon Keyes and Michael Arata, along with Denisa Juhos and Don Worley, serve as executive producers.

The cast also includes Autumn Reeser, Don Worley, Michael Regan and Kira Reed.

Steven brought a muscularity and authenticity to the action while keeping that relationship at the center of the film. Aaron brings tremendous weight and humanity to the role, and together with Brenton and Bella, we have a cast that really elevates the material. I’m incredibly proud of what we made together.”
Producer Jordan Dykstra added: “Out of the Ashes delivers the scale and intensity audiences want from a post-apocalyptic action film while never losing sight of the characters at its core. Steven has brought a raw energy and authenticity to the material that we think will connect with audiences worldwide.”
Golden Globe nominee Eckhart most recently starred in director Renny Harlin’s Deep Water. Thwaites most recently starred opposite Phoebe Tonkin in the Paramount+ series Two Years Later and opposite Daisy Ridley in We Bury the Dead.
Samman, will next appear in the new season of Taylor Sheridan’s The Madison opposite Michelle Pfeiffer. Previously, she recurred on CW’s Walker as well as CW’s The Originals and Legacies.
Miller’s recent directing credits include Under Fire, starring Mason Gooding and Dylan Sprouse, and Werewolves, starring Frank Grillo and Lou Diamond Phillips. Out of the Ashes reunites Miller and Eckhart who previously worked together on the 2019 action thriller Line of Duty.
