Crystal Rasch was described as meticulous and highly organized. Investigators found a calendar in her room containing numerous medical appointments, including doctor visits and pain management procedures. However, there were no entries indicating plans for a camping trip with her husband, Zachariah Rasch. Zachariah told investigators the couple had gone on a getaway, but according to investigators, Crystal did not appear in any of the vehicle footage collected during the investigation at the time Zachariah claimed they returned from the trip.
