‘Always Lalisa’ Doc About K-Pop’s Lisa Sets Imax, Theatrical And Streaming Release Dates

Always Lalisa, the feature documentary following K-Pop star Lisa, will open in IMAX and cinemas worldwide for a limited engagement via Trafalgar Releasing beginning October 12, before streaming exclusively on YouTube Premium later this year.

The plans were announced today by Sony Music Vision.

Directed by Sue Kim, the film follows a pivotal year in Lisa’s life as she steps away from K-Pop group Blackpink for “a year of independence.” The doc chronicles the “fear and pressure of launching a solo career, pursuing acting, and building a brand, while yearning to maintain a personal life beyond the spotlight.”

Lisa was one of the performers for the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and performed “Goals” alongside Anitta and Rema. She also performed at Coachella 2025 as a solo act and served on the 2026 Met Gala host committee as the first K-pop artist in that role. She made her acting debut in HBO’s The White Lotus and has announced two Netflix projects — starring in and executive producing action film Tygo and an untitled romantic comedy currently in development. Her her upcoming EP, Press Play, is out October 23.
