CBS is celebrating 1,000 episodes of Big Brother by taking away the live feeds from fans as a massive twist plays out in the house.
At the end of the celebratory episode, which saw the seventh housemate evicted, host Julie Chen Moonves delivered news of an “unprecedented twist.”
Moonves said the remaining players would be transported to medieval times, to the year 1000, which would “challenge the houseguests socially and competitively.” For the twist, there would be no Head of Household, no Veto Competition, and no Block Buster, adding, “But when all is said and done, someone’s game will come to an end before the next live eviction.”

A sneak peek of the competition featured four Big Brother alums atop a medieval castle, which included Britney Haynes (BB12 & BB14), Tiffany Mitchell (BB23), Cody Calafiore (BB16 & BB22), and Keanu Soto (BB27).
To keep the competition under wraps, the live feeds would be “down for the next three days” until after Sunday (August 30) night’s episode, with Moonves suggesting, “Put your screens away, go outside, smell the flowers. The feeds will return after Sunday’s show.”
The live feeds are one of the major components of Big Brother that make the franchise unique, and with the feeds down, it’s sure to leave some fans disgruntled. On top of that, some viewers pay a Paramount+ subscription to enjoy the live feeds, and having them shut off for this twist is inconvenient.
