Amelia Dimoldenberg wants to reinvent Skins for Gen Z.
The online creator, who has turned into a YouTube sensation, has revealed that she is developing a young adult drama series for the BBC.
In an interview at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Dimoldenberg said the drama was “my version of Skins,” the defining Channel 4 drama that launched the careers of stars including Nicholas Hoult, Jack O’Connell, and Kaya Scodelario.
Dimoldenberg said the development process had been protracted, but that she would “will it into existence” like she did with Chicken Shop Date and her upcoming romantic comedy, which is in development with Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures.
