Danny McBride’s Debut Novel ‘Thrilling Tales Of Modern Men’ Hits New York Times Bestseller List In First Week

Multi-hyphenate Danny McBride can now add New York Times bestselling author to his resume as his debut novel Thrilling Tales Oof Modern Men cracked the list in its first week. The book was No. 14 on the list after hitting shelves June 23.

Random House acquired McBride’s first book in 2023. A darkly hilarious, unpredictable, and incisive collection of original short stories, McBride probes the fragile masculinity that’s become ever-present in modern American culture. The stories, much like McBride’s shows and characters, explore the darker afflictions of today’s man, with McBride’s trademark humor and acerbic earnestness.

North American publishing rights were acquired by Ben Greenberg at Random House, via Anthony Mattero and Mollie Glick at CAA. An audiobook edition was released simultaneously by Penguin Random House Audio read by the author.

McBride is best known for his work on such films as Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder and series like Vice Principals and Eastbound and Down.
