Max Greenfield is sharing an update on the New Girl reunion, and fans can rest assured about the development.
In a new interview, the Running Point actor revealed that he has seen scripts for the reunion.
“As far as I know, it’s happening,” Greenfield said on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle. “I’ve seen scripts, they’re amazing.”
New Girl ran for seven seasons on Fox after premiering in 2011. The comedy series created by Elizabeth Meriwether starred Zooey Deschanel as Jessica Day, a quirky teacher who moves into an L.A. loft with three men: Nick Miller (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Greenfield), and Winston Bishop (Lamorne Morris).
Earlier this year, Jake Johnson teased the New Girl reunion, joking with Deadline that everyone was going to be in it besides Morris: “Because he got an Emmy and he thinks they’re better than us. And I have direct quotes saying ‘I’m too talented and too funny to be on a sitcom with you, hacks.’”

Morris received an Emmy for Fargo in the Supporting Actor in a Limited Series category. Johnson continued joking about Morris not being in the reunion, adding, “By the way, we’re with the fans. All the fans want it too, write to Lamonre on Instagram. Because he doesn’t want it. He doesn’t like the fans!”
In 2020, the New Girl cast reunited to remind people to vote. Included in the PSA were Deschanel, Morris and Johnson.
