EXCLUSIVE: Tomorrow brings the start of a Winnipeg shoot for Homesick, an indie horror thriller to star Mena Suvari (American Beauty), David Arquette (Scream franchise), Belle Shouse (Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story) and Alberto Rosende (Chicago Fire).

From Evoke Entertainment and Freefall Films, the film revolves around Suvari’s Dr. Abby Morrison, a compassionate physician whose carefully built life conceals a secret she has never shared with her husband. With their daughter away at college, Abby and husband Gordy (Arquette) are settling into life as empty nesters when the arrival of a mysterious young woman (Shouse) shatters their sense of safety. As an unsettling encounter spirals into a nightmare, the couple must fight to protect each other in a home they can no longer trust.

Todd Slavkin, a veteran of shows like Shadowhunters, The Mysterious Benedict Society and Smallville, is directing from a script written with longtime writing and producing partner Darren Swimmer. Stan Spry, Henry Boger and Anthony Fankhauser are producing; Jeff Holland, Geoff Silverman, Slavkin and Swimmer are exec producing; and Pam Mitchell is co-producing.
