Netflix has appointed IMG to produce the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027.
The tournament, which takes place in Brazil from June 24-July 25, is streaming exclusively on Netflix in the U.S. and Canada, with IMG producing coverage of all 64 games and more than 100 hours of studio programming featuring “top-tier talent.”
Coverage will be made available in English and Spanish in the U.S. and in English and French in Canada.
“The FIFA Women’s World Cup is one of the fastest-growing events in global sport, showcasing the best football and captivating new audiences worldwide,” said Adam Kelly, IMG’s President.
This will mark the first time Netflix has moved into exclusive live football. At the time of the announcement in December 2024, it said noted that doc content would accompany each match. The streamer also has rights to the 2031 tournament, as it pushes further into live sports content.
