EXCLUSIVE: The David Leitch-directed action movie How to Rob a Bank is driving away from its Labor Day weekend release on September 4 to November 13.
The change is in an effort for the Amazon MGM Studios movie to grab a bigger 18-34 audience and play into the Thanksgiving holiday. The studio noticed recently how that demo has been responding to the film’s materials and energy.
How to Rob a Bank moves away from Paramount’s Mark Wahlberg/Yahya Abdul-Mateeen II movie By Any Means, A24’s Onslaught and Disney/Pixar’s re-release of Cars to a new weekend where J.J. Abrams’ The Great Beyond from Warner Bros and Paramount’s Johnny Depp-led Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol are currently dated.

How to Rob a Bank follows a crew of social media-savvy bank robbers who broadcast their daring heists, unaware that their growing viral fame has put them in the crosshairs of a veteran FBI agent and a brilliant software engineer. Despite the unlikely duo closing in, the crime ring pushes past their limits, putting everything on the line for their beliefs — and their most ambitious heist yet.
Producers are Imagine’s Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody and Allan Mandelbaum and 87Eleven’s Kelly McCormick and Leitch.
