EXCLUSIVE: Taz Skylar, best known for Netflix’s One Piece and Amazon’s Brit gangster film Gassed Up, has joined Craig Fairbrass, who returns as Eddie Franks, in crime sequel Villains, which has wrapped principal photography in London.
Canadian sales and production company Double Dutch International is launching sales at the TIFF market. The movie is a follow-up to Phillip Barantini’s original movie, Villain, with Skylar reprising his role of Jason.
Also joining the cast is Orli Shuka, best known for Gangs of London, and Jason Maza (Welcome To The Punch).
The synopsis reads: “Villains continues the story of Eddie Franks, who once again is trying to leave his old life behind, only to discover that the past isn’t finished with him. The sequel is an unrelenting story of a father pulled back into the world he thought he’d escaped and the violent reckoning that follows.” Above is a first look image.

The original Villain marked the feature directorial debut of Philip Barantini, who has since gone on to direct the acclaimed Boiling Point and Emmy-winning Adolescence. Now Neil Linpow makes his own feature directing debut. Screenplay comes from Greg Hall and George Russo, who also returns as Sean.
“We’ve built something bigger and more brutal than the first film. With Neil’s powerful vision. It doesn’t look like anything we’d normally get to make from the UK; it looks like a huge production,” said Fairbrass. “The cast around me is the other half of it. Taz and I are on our third project together now, and there’s a shorthand there you can’t manufacture. Add Orli, David, Francis, Percelle, Fred, George and Morgan – that’s as good a group of actors as I’ve stood in a room with.”
Cast also includes David O’Hara, Percelle Ascott, Frederick Schmidt, Francis Magee, Morgan Hilaire, Stephen Uppal, Hester Ruoff, Danielle Brent, Jack Shallo and Mirabel Stuart.
