EXCLUSIVE: Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired North American rights to genre title Bagworm, the feature debut from director Oliver Bernsen and writer Henry Bernsen.
The film had its world premiere at the 2025 Sitges Film Festival, where it won the Panorama Section Audience Award, before making its North American premiere in the Visions Section at SXSW Film & TV Festival. It will next play the Fantasia International Film Festival ahead of its theatrical release by Oscilloscope in winter 2026.
Pic follows Carroll (Peter Falls), “a sexually frustrated hammer salesman, after he steps on a rusty nail, triggering a downward spiral and leaving him to determine whether the world is falling apart– or if he is.”
Along with Falls, the film also stars Michelle Ortiz, Robbie Arnett, Corbin Bernsen, Stephen Borrello, Jessy Morner-Ritt, Sydney Winbush, and Francesca Galassi.

The film was written by Henry Bernsen, and produced by Zoe Rosenberg. Deadline’s Damon Wise called the film “a graphic and gruesome look inside the toxic world of the manosphere.”
The deal for the film was negotiated by Aaron Katz, VP of Acquisitions at Oscilloscope Laboratories and producers on behalf of the filmmakers.
Aaron Katz, VP of Acquisitions at Oscilloscope Laboratories, added: “Bagworm is a feast for your senses. Oliver’s vision is vivid and surreal, yet grounded in Carroll’s humble understanding that the world is going to shit, if only there were something he could do about it. The film uses aspects of genre and horror to drive home its worldview, yet there is hope through the grime and the bodily fluids that things could work out. Bagworm is excellent and I am thrilled Oscilloscope will be bringing this cinematic fever dream to a theater near you. You know what, fuck it, Carroll for President 2028!”
