Rafe Spall will be heading back Under Salt Marsh.
Sky has ordered a second, currently untitled season of the crime drama, in which Spall plays enigmatic Detective Eric Bull.
Following the events of the first season, Bull will move to a remote Scottish mining village that is, per the synopsis, “sinking under the weight of its own secrets” and a murder investigation brings him closer to the truth about his own past.
Under Salt Marsh comes from creator, writer and director Claire Oakley, and is made by Little Door Productions in association with Sky Studios.
Season 2 will run to six episodes. Season 1 debuted in January and became the Comcast-owned broadcaster’s biggest drama launch since The Day of the Jackal and its biggest entertainment title of the year to date, with a consolidated 28-day audience of 2.5 million.

Oakley is writing Season 2 alongside In-Sook Chappell, Jonathan Harbottle and Scott Graham. The series producer is Zoranna Piggott. Executive producers are Elwen Rowlands for Little Door, Oakley, and Megan Spanjian for Sky.
Filming will begin in Scotland in 2027 and next year, before launching on Sky and streaming service Now in the UK, Ireland and Italy. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution will handle international sales.
