Medical examiner Amy Sheil testified about the effort to identify the remains of Carlos Maldonado. Sheil said Maldonado’s body was found in an advanced stage of decomposition and was ultimately identified through dental records. Prosecutors allege Kevin Lychwick killed Maldonado in April 2024, but his remains were not discovered until months later. Lychwick, who is representing himself at trial, has repeatedly maintained his innocence. (6/10/26)
