Wagner Moura In Talks For ‘Ocean’s’ Prequel At Warner Bros Opposite Margot Robbie & Bradley Cooper

Wagner Moura is negotiating to join Warner Bros.’ Ocean’s prequel opposite Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper. The pic is dated for a June 25, 2027 theatrical release.

Moura has been a hot commodity since winning Best Actor at Cannes in 2025 for The Secret Agent, a role when also notched him a Golden Globe win for Best Actor Feature Drama as well as a Best Actor Oscar nomination. He recently had the world premiere of The Last Day based on the Virginia Woolf novel at the Tribeca Film Festival in which he stars opposite Oscar winner Alicia Vikander.

Cooper is directing with the 12x Oscar nominee also producing with Robbie’s LuckyChap. The Star Is Born filmmaker and star is also penning the screenplay based on the characters by George Clayton Johnson and Jack Golden Russell. Previous drafts were penned by Carrie Solomon. Mum is the word on the plot line.

Since 2001, the Ocean’s movies have minted more than $1.4 billion for Warner Bros.
