On a Labor Day long weekend that saw the former Apprentice host posting missives aiming to appropriate HBO’s trending Lanterns, claim the Moon, rename at least one US state, continent and international seaway, as well as try to beat on Canada’s PM in an AI-generated hockey match, it was Trump’s unveiling of new uniforms for the Pentagon’s Space Force that really earned Shatner’s ire and mockery.

“Anyone see the Spaceballs 2 promo that the US Government is promoting?” Shatner tweeted on September 6 with a two-shot of Trump’s new Space Force gear and George Wyner’s evil Colonel Harland Sandurz from the Star Wars and Star Trek parodying original Spaceballs. “I’m telling you; that Mel Brooks is well connected & knows his marketing!” the two-time Emmy winners added.
