Rose Gilroy & Ilene Chaiken Developing OnlyFans Dark Comedy ‘Subs’ With Run-A-Muck

EXCLUSIVE: A dark comedy thriller set in the world of OnlyFans is in the works from Fly Me to the Moon screenwriter Rose Gilroy and The L Word co-creator Ilene Chaiken.

The pair are developing series Subs, which will star creators Ari Kytsya and Sophie Mudd, via Run-A-Muck, the company co-founded by Chaiken.

Subs follows two best friends who, after being blacklisted by Hollywood following a public scandal, build an OnlyFans empire only to be forced to decide what is worth more to them: a multi-million-dollar enterprise threatened by the manosphere, AI rivals, and parasocial stalkers, or their friendship?

It is inspired by the lives of influencers Kytsya, who has nearly ten million social media followers, and Mudd, who had a recurring role on HBO’s The Idol. Kytsya will also serve as an exec producer.

Gilroy, who penned the Greg Berlanti-directed, Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum-led Fly Me To The Moon, will serve as creator and writer with Chaiken attached as showrunner and exec producer.

The development comes as an original short story will debut on Run-A-Muck’s editorial platform Drafting. The short story, Backstage Bella, follows one of the narratives in Subs and is part of the larger universe of the series.

Run-A-Muck was founded by former Condé Nast President Pamela Drucker Mann, Flashdance star Jennifer Beals and Chaiken. The company is working on a feature adaptation of Pulitzer Prize finalist Torrey Peters’ novella Stag Dance and a feature romantic comedy from Carly Usdin and Brittani Nichols featuring WNBA players Gabby Williams, Theresa Plaisance, and Syd Colson.
